The Confident Traveller is a program funded by Metro Trains Melbourne that is designed to build life-long skills in safety, expanding comfort zones, and managing the fears that stop us from taking action.
Through survey feedback, participants reported:

2. Increased opportunities to access employment and further education
3. Increased opportunities to participate in social and leisure activities
4. Increased confidence in the ability to learn new skills
5. Parents reduced responsibility and an opportunity to transition their children into independence

Throughout the April school holidays, young people were empowered to take control over themselves, built (or rebuild) confidence to use public transport post-covid and learned new skills of planning to travel to new, or unknown places including:
- Sandringham
- Royal Botanical Gardens
- Fitzroy Gardens
Thank you to all the young people who participated in our Confident Traveller program and we wish them all the best in their future journeys on our public transport system.
