ABOUT EMBRACE

Our flagship personal development program EMBRACE takes 36 young people annually from diverse backgrounds, through a unique experience of self-discovery, building their confidence, self-esteem and leadership capabilities. EMBRACE stands for:

Education
Motivation
Belief
Resilience
Acceptance
Confidence
Empowerment

The EMBRACE program is proudly supported by the Joe White Bequest. Joe White was a businessman who was very active in the communities of Ballarat and Torquay and later in Melbourne. He died in Brighton at the age of 86, having grown his business, Joe White Maltings, to become Australia’s largest Malting company. The Joe White Bequest was created to ensure a continuing legacy of community contribution and it is through this generosity that we able to offer our EMBRACE program.

The ripple effect of EMBRACE has positive impacts on families, communities and peers with research showing that participants self-report positive changes in managing their emotions, making healthy choices, feeling safe and building their self-confidence.

WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM OFFER?

EMBRACE participants are involved in a series of events, workshops and camps over a two-year journey which enables them to expand their horizons, believe in themselves and develop positive behaviours which improve their health and wellbeing.
